Hacking Ravi Rajan for a headshot!
Hacking Ravi Rajan for a headshot
After I did professional headshots for team Pedagoge it was inevitable that the images would land up on social media. One of earliest comments on Rohit's profile was from Ravi mentioning that he needed one too.
After getting in touch with Ravi through Rohit we have a couple of quick phone calls where it was clear that this was a man who was always on the move and kind of stretched for time. Finally a quick meeting at a Barista and a run in at the Sheroes events at the local NASSCOM 10,000 Startups Warehouse Kolkata Ravi could give me a date for the his headshot session.
Ravi is an "Intraprenuer" and entrepreneurship evangelist. So he has helped a lot of professionals and students to become entrepreneur. Ravi currently manages Startup Warehouse Kolkata which is part of www.10000startups.com and funded by Govt. Of West Bengal.
(10,000 Start-ups is an initiative of NASSCOM with Google as prime sponsor. The program is supported by Google, Microsoft, Intel, Verisign, Kotak Bank and almost every other Accelerator, Incbator, Angel Network, Venture Capital Fund from India and Abroad.)
During the briefing session Ravi mentioned that one of the issues he faced was that students were a bit intimidated to approaching him. Given his proximity with companies and the stage he presents on clubbed with his perpetual hectic schedule most of the college kids usually took a back foot. He wanted that to be addressed. Add that to the fact that it is extremely hard to get this guy to smile! Yup! That is true. I had to work out stories to get Ravi to dish out that smile of his.
Turns out that Ravi had dabbled with photography and films when he was in school. So he had a fair idea of how things were going with the flow during the shoot. Given his age the guy has a huge task in front of him and he is taking it head on. Trying to initiate and encourage young college graduates to jump on the startup wagon and add to the list of the coveted 10,000 startup pan India dream is a big challenge to live up to.
Here is the professional headshot that I made for Ravi during his headshot session. He is currently using this image across his online profile.
Here is wishing Ravi the very best and all the success that will follow from the sheer handwork he put is. Talk to him and you will realise that he will pretty much convince you to start up and get your ass moving!
